About TraceIt

TraceIt is an augmented reality drawing assistant that helps you copy artwork onto paper by hand. Upload a photo of a face, an animal, or any everyday object, and TraceIt turns it into a clean, high-contrast comic line-art sketch. You then open the live camera, overlay that sketch on top of your blank page, and trace along the lines — so anyone can produce an accurate drawing without freehand skill or expensive light boxes.

It is built for hobbyists, students, beginner artists, and anyone who wants to learn to draw by copying reference images. Sketchers can choose from several sketch styles — cartoon, funny caricature, authentic, easy-to-trace, or limited-line — and adjust opacity, zoom, mirror, and a "lines only" mode to match how they draw. Each account keeps a personal gallery of saved sketches, so you can return to a piece any time and trace it again. Administrators can manage the whole library.

TraceIt is built and maintained by the TraceIt team using the Base44 platform, which powers the app's secure sign-in, image storage, and AI sketch generation. We are a small group focused on making drawing approachable and fun. Whether you are sketching for the first time or refining your technique, TraceIt gives you a clear line to follow.
